"My husband and I booked a cruise to Bermuda and purchased Trip Cancellation Insurance from Travel Guard. We had never used Travel Guard before but a friend assured us that the company was a good choice for travel insurance. How right she was! Unfortunately‚ due to unexpected illness we were forced to cancel our trip on the day before we were to leave. Our claim was completed within two weeks‚ even though it was the busy Christmas holiday season. We received a pleasant phone call from one of Travel Guard's representatives, telling us our claim had been processed and our cheque was on the way. For future trips, we plan to use Travel Guard for all our insurance.”

Brother passed away during 3 week trip. Reimbursed for flight and remainder of tour cost.
"In the middle of a 3 week Scandinavia Tour, my brother passed away unexpectedly and I had to fly home immediately. I spoke with an agent from Travel Guard and with their help was able to book a flight home on my credit card for the next day. I spoke again to Travel Guard and was advised to submit receipts for my flight as well as a breakdown of the cost of my remaining tour. I had to phone them a few times for advice and each time I spoke to them they were so wonderful to deal with. So helpful in every way. Weeks later I received my cheque for my flight and the remainder of the cost of the tour that I was not able to do. I would HIGHLY recommend Travel Guard to anyone. "I am very pleased that I chose Travel Guard insurance for my recent trip to Israel. This was my second time using Travel Guard insurance. We buy insurance "in case something happens". It rarely does and Travel Guard rates have been quite reasonable. But this trip something happened. I fell. The assistance by phone to Travel Guard was supportive and sensitive. Injury suffered on cruise - we were reimbursed.
"I suffered an injury causing me to return home from a 67 day South American cruise. This was on the 14th day of the cruise. I had to leave the ship immediately and hire two cars to carry our 6 suitcases‚ ourselves (2) and a nurse provided by the cruise line. We travelled 6 hours to Lima Peru, to go to a clinic to make sure I was fit to fly. Before I left the ship, the nurse aboard started a claim with Travel Guard. Travel Guard arranged my flight from Peru to Vancouver. We were reimbursed for our expenses, which was a sizeable amount. I certainly appreciated your service."

Lost luggage - an unpleasant situation eased.
"We have purchased Trip Cancellation/Trip Interruption insurance numerous times with Travel Guard. Luckily‚ we have only had to use it on our recent travels. It wasn't a huge deal‚ but our luggage was delayed for 24 hours. I called Travel Guard as soon as I could. We purchased items of necessity‚ to get us through the day until our luggage arrived. When I came home‚ I called Travel Guard to put in a claim. They were professional and efficient and my claim was processed within 10 days. "We have bought Trip Cancellation and Emergency Medical insurance with Travel Guard over the years. It was only recently that we had to cancel our trip due to a medical emergency. While there were many pages of forms to be filled in‚ including a medical certificate from the hospital‚ our claim went without a hitch. The staff at Travel Guard were helpful and kept us informed on the status of our claim. Though we paid the insurance in Canadian dollars‚ our cruise bookings were in U.S. dollars. We received a full refund in U.S. dollars. We feel confident going with Travel Guard again in future, based on our recent experience.”

"We are 'snowbirds' and spend our winters in Florida. In December I fell on wet bathroom tiles in a public restroom and bruised my patella and soft tissue in the knee area. Travel Guard was most responsive in directing me to quality care and diagnostics, and they arranged for all service fees to be billed direct to Travel Guard. Their followup calls during my recovery was caring and appropriate. Excellent experience."

"My husband and I planned a wonderful vacation to the island of Maui‚ Hawaii. When we arrived at the Edmonton Airport, our flight was cancelled due to restricted hours of flying time allocated for the pilots of our airline. We were promptly given tickets for another airline and our belongings were transferred accordingly. When we arrived at the airport in Maui we were distraught to find that our baggage was missing and we only had our carry-on items to begin our holiday.
