William and Catherine, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, have been causing a worldwide stir as they continue to make public appearances that have people clamoring to catch a glimpse of the royal couple.
The Montreal Gazette reports that more people are travelling to Ottawa as the Duke and Duchess have plans to visit the area during their holiday. According to the news provider, most local hotels in the region are already sold out due to the high volume of tourists looking to see the famed newlyweds with their own eyes.
The couple plan to be in the area during Canada Day, which is already a busy time of year for Ottawa, according to tourism officials.
"Traditionally, Canada Day is a busy time, but it does fall on a Friday this year and so being on a long weekend is advantageous and with the Royal couple there's a pretty big buzz in the city," Deneen Perrin, spokeswoman for a local hotel, told the news provider.
According to the Toronto Star, William and Catherine have plans to visit seven cities in Canada before heading to California on their first trip to North America as a couple.
