Pho is a famous Vietnamese noodle soup dish that many people think of as a cheap comfort food. However, those who are planning a trip to Beverly Hills may have the chance to indulge in quite possibly the most expensive bowl of pho in the world.
The Globe and Mail is reporting that Crustacean, a well-known high-class Vietnamese restaurant in the California city, will feature a bowl of pho that is worth $5,000. The ingredients include Wagyu beef, white alba truffles, a foie gras broth, blue lobster noodles and hand-raised bean sprouts.
However, while this bowl of soup is worth more than what some people pay for their first car, the news provider reports that proceeds from the $5,000 dish will go toward the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital.
According to OC Weekly, the culinary delight will first go up for auction during the Bash Benefactor Dinner at Tiato in Santa Monica with the starting price of $5,000. However, it will also have a permanent place on the Crustacean menu.
