Since they got married, William and Catherine, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, have been a bolster to the hospitality industry wherever they go. As California continues to struggle with budget issues, some people believe that a visit from the Royal Couple could be good for business.
The Vancouver Sun reports that following their seven-city tour of Canada, the Duke and Duchess have plans to head to Los Angeles, and the state of California is already hoping that it will be a boost to the tourism industry.
"No matter where they venture in California, the royal visit will create a global postcard for the Golden State this summer," Caroline Beteta, head of the California Travel and Tourism Commission, told the news provider. "Certainly at a time when international travel is leading the rebound in the industry, it’s a pivotal time for California to be on the world stage with a such a highly-publicized visit by the royal newlyweds."
According to the Herald Sun, some of activities planned for the visit include an event by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) and possibly a charity polo match.
