What is Travel Guard?
Travel Guard Group, Inc. and its affiliate companies provide integrated travel insurance, assistance and emergency travel services for millions of travelers and thousands of companies throughout the world. Travel Guard is renowned for its superior customer service, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through its World Service Center (800 826 1300). The Travel Guard group of companies has more than 800 employees in 20 worldwide locations.
What is the Travel Guard Affiliate Program?
The Travel Guard affiliate program allows websites to easily earn money by promoting Travel Guard's services through a variety of special links. Affiliate sites earn referral fees for online purchases made by customers who follow the affiliate's links.
What are the benefits to joining?
You earn generous referral fees for all online sales generated by your site, and your visitors receive access to the services of the world's leading travel insurance provider.

How do I sign up?
All you have to do is go to our signup page and enter your site's information. We will review your application within 48 hours, and if your site is approved, we'll send your login information to get you started as a Travel Guard affiliate.
Does my site qualify?
Any live website, small or large is eligible to apply to the program. Sites outside of the United States are eligible as well. We review each and every potential Affiliate site before accepting them into the program. Not all applicants will be accepted, and it is within our sole discretion to deny any application for any reason, including applications for sites that contain content that could be classified as defamatory, harassing, harmful, obscene, racially objectionable, or unlawful. Sites that link to or contain objectionable materials will not be accepted. All applicants will be notified of their acceptance or rejection after our decision is made.
What if I have more than one website?
We encourage you to sign up each individual site separately so that we may properly review each one for acceptance into the program and customize the links we provide.
Can Travel Guard affiliates join other programs?
Yes, standard affiliates are welcome to become affiliates of other sites. However, affiliates who choose the exclusive affiliate agreement (with higher referral fees) are not allowed to join the affiliate programs of Travel Guard's competitors for a period of 3 years.

How much money can my company make by participating in Travel Guard's affiliate program?
As a standard affiliate, for the first online sale of every new customer you refer, you'll receive $8.00 for purchases of $50 or higher, and $3.00 for purchases below $50. Plus you'll continue to earn $0.50 for every future online purchase by that customer! And if you sign up to be an exclusive affiliate with Travel Guard, you can earn $12 for new referral sales over $50.
Are there any set-up fees, or monthly charges?
No. It is absolutely free to be an affiliate of Travel Guard.
Is there a limit on how much I can make?
No. The more sales you generate through your links, the more money you earn.
What is considered a "new customer"?
A new customer is any customer who 1. makes an online purchase from Travel Guard after following a Special Link on your site, 2. has not made a purchase from Travel Guard through your Special Links in the past, and 3. does not cancel the services before they are rendered.
How often will I get paid?
Referral fees are paid monthly, approximately 30 days following the end of the month.
Do I have to meet a minimum amount in order to get paid?
The minimum amount you must accumulate to receive your monthly referral fee check is $25.
What if I don't meet the $25 minimum?
If your pending referral fees total less than $25 at the end of the month, your money will be held until the first subsequent month in which the fees total $25 or more.
Do affiliates get credit for recruiting second-tier affiliates?
We do not currently track second-tier affiliate referrals, however this may be added to the program at a future date.

How do we track our earnings?
As an affiliate, you will be able to check your earnings on a daily basis, simply by logging in to our affiliate site and viewing your sales reports and commission reports online. The reports contain up-to-date statistics for impressions, clicks, sales, earnings, etc., so that you can track your own performance.
How are sales tracked and credited to my site?
New customer sales are tracked to the referring site by the site ID# in the link and/or a cookie placed on the visitor's computer. Customers are then associated with the affiliate for all repeat online purchases they make, by our system. The Travel Guard affiliate program tracks sales 24-hours/day, and also records impressions, clicks, and other statistics, using the site ID# in the links.
What are "Impressions" and "Clicks"?
"Impressions" are the number of times a banner ad is viewed by visitors to your site. "Clicks" are the number of times a visitor actually clicks on a link that takes them to the Travel Guard site. These statistics tell you how much traffic your pages with the ads are receiving, and how effective your links are at attracting potential customers.
Do my visitors have to purchase from Travel Guard right away in order for me to get credit?
No. The Travel Guard affiliate program places a cookie with your site ID# on the visitor's computer to track visitors for a 14 day "return day" period. If these visitors do not make a purchase right away but return for an online purchase within 14 days, the system will track their link from you, and you will receive credit for the sale, even if they come directly to our site.
What if my visitors to your site make a purchase by phone, fax, or mail?
We currently do not pay referral fees for sales that are not made through our website. We do not have a tracking system in place to record these referrals.
If someone deletes all the cookies on their machine, will I get credit for my referrals?
Unfortunately if someone deletes their cookies, we will not be able to track their link from your site for some new customer purchases. However, very few people delete their cookies, and cookies are only used to track visitors who do not purchase right away but become new customers within the 14-day return period, so the chances of this affecting referral fees is very small.
I forgot my username and/or password? What do I do?
To have your username and password sent to your default email address, click on the "Forgot your password?" link on the affiliate login page. You can also email us at affiliate@travelguard.com.
I need to change my address. How do I do that?
Any address or contact information changes can easily be updated by logging in to the affiliate site and editing the fields in the Personal Information page.

How can I promote Travel Guard?
Simply place the provided links on your website, solicited email messages (unsolicited emails are prohibited), or electronic newsletters. Text links may also be used, such as "travel insurance," "travel protection", "international medical insurance" and similar phrases, as long as they link to the proper address to track you as the referring affiliate. Other copy may be used only with the approval of Travel Guard. For approval, contact us at affiliate@travelguard.com.
How do I add links to my site?
Once you become an affiliate, HTML links in both banner and text formats will be provided to you on our affiliate site. Step-by-step instructions will be provided to you on the site, and you can contact us for additional assistance.
Where should I place my links?
Our affiliate site provides recommendations on where to place Travel Guard links to maximize sales referrals from your site. Some suggestions include:

• In a dedicated Travel Insurance area
• On Your Home Page
• In Your Navigation Tool Bar
• In other areas of your site where purchasing travel insurance would be appropriate

Is knowing HTML a requirement? Will I need a programmer?
No. Simply cut and paste the HTML we provide to you into your site, and your links will be ready for visitors to use.
I have an e-mail newsletter. Can I put affiliate links in that?
You are welcome to place affiliate links in your e-newsletters, as long as all text related to the link is provided by Travel Guard. We must approve all text written by affiliates that is related to Travel Guard or Travel Guard products. For approval of copy, contact us at affiliate@travelguard.com.
Do I have to build a separate "Travel Insurance" page on my site?
No. However having a page dedicated to travel insurance can be a great way of driving traffic to your site with content and generating affiliate sales. This can also encourage return visits and repeat sales.
Can I change and update my links whenever I want?
Yes. We suggest that you update your links frequently to attract more visitors. You will be notified when new links become available, and we suggest that you visit our affiliate site often to check for new links and tips.
Can I modify these links?
No. Links are only to be used as they appear on our affiliate site, and any modification of the HTML code may prevent your site from receiving credit for visitors. If you need a customized link, contact us about creating one for you.
What kind of advertising is prohibited?
Unsolicited "spam" email is prohibited. Any affiliate using spam can be terminated and forfeits all pending commissions. Any copy not approved by Travel Guard.com is also prohibited. For approval of copy, contact us at affiliate@travelguard.com.

What is my responsibility as a Travel Guard Affiliate?
You are responsible for placing the provided HTML links on your site and using them to promote Travel Guard. You are also responsible for updating and maintaining these links, as well as placing them in the appropriate areas of your site to direct visitors to Travel Guard.
What is Travel Guard's responsibility?
Travel Guard will provide content, links, and support to help you maximize sales through the links to our site. We will handle all purchases, billing, customer service, and all other items related to our products for our customers, as well as tracking sales from affiliates, calculating referral fees, and sending checks.
Will you promote my site?
The Travel Guard site does not actively promote other sites or provide links. We recommend that you submit your site to search engines and web sites that will accept links from other sites to build traffic.
